San Francisco — June 30, 2010 — Digital Anarchy, a leading provider of cost-effective software for photographers and Photoshop artists, today announced a free update to their popular ToonIt! Photo plugin. ToonIt! 2.6 creates cartoon-like images from photographs, freeing artists from time consuming techniques such as hand painting and masking. A believable cel-shaded ‘toon’ effect is automatic, and users have a great deal of control to customize the cartoon with different paint styles, shading and outlines.
The feature-packed 2.6 update expands ToonIt!’s cartoon outline effect with three new styles: Woodcut Outlines, Conte Outlines and Scratchboard Outlines. A new option called Supersmart Blur has been added for more stylization of the cartoon color fields. ToonIt 2.6 has an improved interface with its controls rearranged into more intuitive groups. Minor UI elements for workflow improvement have also been added.

New & Improved Features for ToonIt! 2.6 include:

• New Outline Effects: Woodcut Outlines, Conte Outlines and Scratchboard Outlines provide three new options for stylizing the line quality of the cartoon.
• New Color Blur Option: The new Supersmart Blur has been added for more stylization options of the cartoon color fields.
• Improved Interface: The ToonIt! interface has been rearranged with its controls placed into more intuitive groups for a better workflow.
• Toggled Preview: A Caps Lock disable command gives the option of turning on/off the ToonIt! preview, which makes the design process faster.
• New Cartoon Presets: The Preset Manager now ships with more cartoon presets to make the tooning process fun and easy.
ToonIt! 2.6 adds compatibility for Adobe Photoshop CS5 and 64-bit operation on Mac systems; the Photoshop plugin is already compatible on Windows/Vista. The 2.6 update also adds many behind-the-scenes improvements, like background rendering, to make ToonIt faster and more responsive

How to use Photoshop plugins
-----------------------------------

A plug-in is a software module, which is used with some other applications to enhance the capabilities of that application. Adobe Photoshop
comes with pre-installed plug-ins. These plug-ins perform different type of effects on images.

To use plug-ins in Adobe Photoshop we need to install them in Adobe Photoshop's plug-in directory. When we install any plug-in it will ask you to give the path (some automatically finds Adobe Photoshop). Select the Adobe Photoshop's plug directory. When Adobe Photoshop will run it will automatically read these plug-ins. These plug-ins will be included in the Filter menu.

To use any plug-in, open the image on which we want to use effects. Then go to menu bar and select Filter and then in the end of this menu list select any of the installed plug-in. The plug-in window will open.
